Pioneering Achievements of DD Eye Institute
DD Eye Institute has consistently led advancements in ophthalmic care, pioneering numerous technologies and techniques in North India and beyond. Key milestones include:
1994 – First in the region to introduce sutureless cataract surgery using the phacoemulsification technique, setting a new standard in minimally invasive eye surgery.
1996 – Pioneered the implantation of foldable intraocular lenses (IOLs), enhancing post-surgical recovery and visual outcomes.
1997 – Among the earliest adopters of Topical Phacoemulsification, allowing cataract surgery without injections or stitches.
1997 – Introduced multifocal IOL implantation, offering patients freedom from glasses for near and distance vision.
2001 – Launched LASIK laser surgery, providing a reliable and permanent solution for spectacle removal.
2007 – Initiated Toric IOL implantation to correct astigmatism during cataract surgery, greatly improving visual clarity.
2008 – Adopted OCT imaging technology for in-depth, microscopic-level diagnosis and treatment of retinal and glaucoma disorders.
2010 – Began accommodative lens implantation, enabling dynamic vision correction that adjusts naturally with eye movement.
2010 – Introduced advanced retinal surgery using the American Accurus Vitrectomy System, enabling high-precision management of complex retinal diseases.
2010 – Started ICL lens implantation, offering a safe and effective alternative to LASIK for patients with high refractive errors or thin corneas.
2014 – Launched the International Phacoemulsification Fellowship Program, training ophthalmologists worldwide in advanced cataract surgery techniques.
